Right. Time to get serious. I’m feeling the fear and doing it anyway. I was challenged by business coach Haley Night to write 30 blogs in 30 days, and I’m going to do it.

I’m sure many of you will have experienced situations where you hold yourself back. You may well know what you want to achieve, but there is a level of fear that keeps you playing small, or sticking to the standard routine.

Launching a business is nerve-wracking. I know what I want to achieve. I want to connect with other women and share all the cool stuff I know to help make their lives so so much better.

Second to launching a business being nerve wracking, kicking off an online business is even more challenging I’ve decided! Because here’s the thing…for you to get to know me online I need to give you pieces of me (ahhh…woah, out of my comfort-zone attack!). I’ve realized that you will never get to know me if I don’t share my inner thoughts, feelings and the stuff that makes me tick. If we were to meet in person, it would be easy. This stuff would happen naturally. There would be a dialogue between us that would tease the interesting stuff out and you would “get to know me”. You could feel my energy, and pick up on my body language without even being consciously aware of it. It would all be natural.

But the world of online “me talking to you” doesn’t really allow for that natural progression of a relationship.  So it has to be formed another way, through me authentically showing up and allowing you to get to know me bit by bit. And my hope is that as I pour pieces of me onto the page that before long you will actually feel a level of connection with me. Hell, I may even get to know myself better!

All sounds good in theory right? But there is this pesky little thing called FEAR that creeps in just when it is no damn good for you.

Fear is a useful evolutionary process that protects us from the things that could harm us, but as modern humans, we often let it go into overdrive. We let the feeling of fear stop us from moving forward when in reality, the risk of danger is low. We need to be bigger than our fear if we are going to become the greatest version of ourselves. When we feel fearful, we need to overcome our programming and damn well “do it anyway”.

So if I’m telling you that you need to:

  1. acknowledge your fear
  2. override it
  3. and do whatever it is that scares you anyway

…then it’s only fair that I do the same. And one of the things that scares the shit out of me is being vulnerable. Letting you all in and really, truly getting to know me. But I’m going to do just that.

I love writing, so I’m going to pour my heart out to you over the next 30 days. I’ll be posting one blog every day to my website. I’ll also share a link on my Facebook page and in my closed Facebook group –Here to Thrive.

My hope is that by the end of this process you will have gotten to know me just that little bit better. That you might feel more connected to me, and even maybe see things along the way that really resonate with you too.

I’m shaking in my boots…Wish me luck!  Kate xx
